I had just walked into study block at school (approx 10:42), and I saw a bunch of kids crowded around a tv. I asked the girl with pink hair who sits in front of me what was going on and she said that two planes had crashed into the World Trade Centers. At the time I must admit that I wasn't exactly sure what the WTC were......but watching I found out....where I live is right next to a big military base, so kids were getting passes to the phones to call their parents to see who was and wasn't being deployed (me included). Everyone was really scared and I think even one girl was crying. School ended shortly after, and I came home and watched the news all evening, before trying to go to bed.

On September 11th 2001 I awoke like every other day. My mom works fairly close to the world trade center. When i first heard about the tower getting hit i was scared for my mom and then when the towers collapsed I thought she might have died. Luckily my dad called her and informed the school to tell me my mom was ok. It was horrifying for me ecspecially because i was at the world trade center a month before. All my family in New York was ok. It made me know how much e should appreciate our families. America was hurt but it wont stop us from living the way we do

Where was I on 9/11? I remember waking up and jumping into the shower at around 7:00a.m. like I usually do on Tuesdays getting ready for school. I then turned on my radio and heard what was going on. I couldn't believe what had happened. At first it didn't click at how serious it was. I just remember hearing how a plane had crashed into the world trade center and how another one hit not minutes after. I got ready and went upstairs and my dad was watching T.V. I asked him what exactly was going on because I had no clue. I didn't know whether to believe it or not just like every other American out there. Maybe it wasn't the fact that I didn't know whether to believe it, but the fact whether I wanted to. I left and listened to the radio all the way to school, I am a senior in high school by the way, and went to my first hour. The only thing that anyone could talk about was what was happening in NY. All kinds of stories were going around, everyone was shocked. In my first hour class, which happened to be American History AP with Mr. Roberts, my teacher put on a station and all we did was sit there and watch what was going on. I remember sitting there and watching while the buildings callasped, people were screaming. I remember then hearing about the plane that hit the pentagon, and how a plane crashed in PA. I then remember sitting with some class mates discussing who could have done this? Who would have had enough guts to mess with the lives of so many Americans? I knew at that moment, that something big was going to come out of this and that it would take a while to find who was behind it. For the rest of the day all of my classes were discussing what was going on in our Country. After school, I went home and sat on the couch watching the news stations, flipping back and forth trying to find out more information on what was happening. For the next few days, I did the same thing, watch the news stations and listening to the stories that each individual had to say about what happened in NY. It looked like a war site. I have never seen anything like it before and hope to never see anything like it again.

I was sleeping in my Mom's house in New Jersey when she came and work me up saying "great things are happening, planes just hit the twin towers, one of them is gone." I was kind of groggy so I looked out my window towards manhatten but of course I couldn't see anything because of the palisades blocking my view. I went downstairs (at this point only one of the towers had collapsed) and turned on the TV. only a couple of the channels worked because a lot of them broadcast from the tower. My first concern was that my dad lived only a few blocks from the towers, but my mom had gotten a call from him and he was picking up my sister from school (she went to school in Riverdale) and they were both coming to New Jersey. However our housekeeper who we had known for a long time was at my dad's house so I kept trying to call it. My mom was very upset and gave up but eventually I got through to her. She said "oh, everything's fine here, there's something wrong with the water though." She was 8 blocks from the towers and she didn't know they had been hit! So we told her to try to get out... she was fine and so was the house. In a little while a couple of my friends came by because the school had said "classes will continue but if parents want they can take their kids home" so they just left. That's my 9/11 story.

I live in Australia, so it was nighttime when the attack occured. It was storming outside, and got up to close my bedroom window. My mother heard me moving around and came into me bedroom, looking completely shocked. She said, "The World Trade Center in New York has been hit by a plane. Come and watch the news!" We sat on her bed and watched in shock as the first tower was engulfed in flame. And then it happened. The second plane came onto the screen and exploded against the second tower. It was unbelieveable. We watched the disaster unfolding live on television, and clung to each other because there was nothing we could do. We cried for the innocent lives lost and the evil of man's heart, as it was obviously a terrorist attack. We could not express our horror and fury that anything so evil could touch the lives and hearts of so many. Our bodies were bound here, but our thoughts and prayers were with the families of thoses souls lost, and the emergency workers trying to save them. God Bless America, we will never forget.
