I was at home in Rockingham, Western Australia. At the moment that we heard the news reporters telling us from the TV in the room next door that the trade center had been hit, my Dad and I were helping our dog, Nina, to give birth to her four puppies. I quickley rushed to the TV where my brother had been interrupted watching his favourite TV show, Seinfeld and ran to inform my Dad. We took turns watching Nina and the puppies and monitering the sitaution in America. We were already feeling sad and were deeply traumatised at seeing the second trade tower hit when we lost two of Nina's puppies. Not only was it terribly sad to hear of the people who were killed at the hand of a madman but we were devastated at the loss of our beloved puppies. It seemed like the night couldn't get any worse. I know where I was is hardly significant in terms of the tragedy that occured on September 11 but I'd like to believe that I was united in grief with everyone else on the planet and that makes my whereabouts important.

I was awoken by my dad at work who said look at the television-i remember asking what channel-he gave a quick laugh-and said it will be on every channel.
At first i thought the world's economy had collapsed, then i got the impression a crazed gunman had started shooting in Manhattan.
I was mortified as i saw the images of planes plowing into the WTC.
I am Australian, but i am with you-in th ewords of Winston Churchill and Franklin D Roosevelt respectively-
"We shall never surrender"
"We will never give up, or give in"

They have sown the wind now they must reap the whirlwind-my heart is with my American brothers-in-arms...AMEN

I was in school on the 11th and the principal got on the pa system and announced to everyone that both of the world trade centers had been hit by airplanes. I don't think I'll ever forget the looks on people's faces and the silence that came over us all at that moment on that tragic day.

On September 11th, I was coming back from my consortium class, from another school. I heard on the radio while on the bus ride that there was a plane crash, and I didnt think anything of it. I walked into my home high school and saw on the TV in the counseling office that the world trade center was hit by an airplane. I watched for about 10 minutes, then I saw live the second plane hit the 2nd tower. It hurt inside to watch, and ever since then, I've never been so patriotic.

I was in downtown DC with some friends, waiting for the workday to start. My friend Maurice got an urgent page from his cousin, and I let him use my cell phone to call him back, but it wouldn't work. I thought I was just having phone problems, I never would have imagined that all the lines were blocked up with people trying to get in touch with their loved ones. A few minutes later, Maurice somehow got through to his cousin and he told us the news- a plane had hit the World Trade Center. Like so many others I dismissed it as a freak accident. Then word came about the second plane. I thought about all of my friends in New York, and started making a mental list of people I would have to call and check on. Then a homeless man ran into the middle of the street and gave us the news about the Pentagon. He told us all to repent because the world was going to end. I felt like I was standing in the middle of a movie scene. Shortly after that, our boss decided to send us home for the day because they heard they were evacuating the White House. All of my friends walked over an hour home, scared of a bomb on the metro. My hip hurt from a soccer injury, so I took the metro, but it was the longest 15 minutes of my life. By the time I got home, the buildings had already collapsed, and I felt so lost. Months later, the reality of how close I came really hit me. If that plane had not gone down in Pennsylvania, it may have crashed on me. I will be forever grateful for those passengers' courage and God's good will.
