I Live In Australia.
So when i found out that America was under attack I was watching Rove on t.v And a voice over interupted saying that america was under attack? So I was like whatever it's gotta be some joke rove pulling cause he's always making jokes on his t.v show.So I decided to go on the internet chat rooms and then I realised that all the chat rooms in america were closed down and I was like that's strange it was about 10:30 at night so i just surfed the net some more got of my computer and I checked my answering machine and we had heaps of messages from family members saying america got attacked that's when everything finally sinked in about america being attacked.I just broke down and cried anyways my whole family all met at my house that night to watch it all together to comfort everyone was so upset and crying non stop i've never seen my family this upset.Even though we never knew anyone in the trade center we all know how much pain and hurt everyone in new york was feeling. We have friends living in utah we know they live ages away from new york but we still rang them up just to make sure they were all right.we hope that nothing as tragic as september 11th ever happens again.I remember the next day going to the shops and everyone was still crying and sad here in australia I know we will never forgot sep 11th.I also remember all the pain my friends who are here felt for their families who live in america how they were all upset that they couldn't get hold of any of their family members cause the phones were too busy.I'll never forget the heart ache or the pain that the terriosts caused that day and I hope that we never have to experience that pain ever again.
God Bless America

As I awoke on the morning of september 11, 2001 I remember looking around the room and noticing my roommate watching the television. I got out of bed and walked towards him and asked what movie he was watching as I saw a building with a giant hole in the side of it engulfed with flames. News reporters were commenting on the event but I was too focused on finding out what movie it was. My roommate said that it was not a movie but that a hijacked plane had crashed into the world trade center. My jaw dropped to the floor in complete disbelief. I slowly walked to the couch and sat down still unable to close my mouth. I remember sitting there and watching the once massive building begin to crumble and buckle due to the crash. All of a sudden the camera cut away and showed another plane(one that i thought was just a replay of the first crash) unfortunately crashing into the second building. It was like a gunshot to the heart of America. I was motionless upon my couch with no will to move as I sat and watched the horrible tragedy occur. Never in my life had I seen anything as devastating as this. I prayed that everyone would be saved knowing that it was already too late. The feeling of helplessness overwhelmed me and I did not know what to do. That day is a memory that will be forever with me. A story to tell the kids about in the future and explain how America pulled together during this crisis and showed their pride. I had never seen so many flags displayed since that day and made so many people proud to be an American and show their support. September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten and I along with everyone else send sympathies to all those who have lost their loved ones. I realize how lucky I am to have the people in my life and appreciate it so much more.

On September 11th I was living in Phoenix. My Fiancé and I had decided to take the day off from work. He was suppose to got to school later that day. We didn't have the TV on that morning. Around 7:30 or 8 our friend Jerri came pounded on our door. We almost didn't answer because we wanted to spend the day alone. We ended up answering the door, she had a look of shock on her face and asked if we had heard what happened. We kind of looked at her weird and said "no, why?" She said, "The twin towers in NYC have been attacked!" So of course we turned on the TV. My first thought was my ex's family. My ex's whole family lived in NY, and I had remembered them saying his uncle worked in the WTC. So I jumped up and called his family. Thankfully he hadn't made it to work yet. (Thank god). At that time we hadn't heard from anyone else though. We hung up the phone when the President came on TV. Later in the day they called to say everyone was just fine. For the next week or so all we did was watch TV to see what was going on. We couldn't believe what had happened. All we kept saying was it was like out of a movie. It didn't seem real. We couldn't believe someone could do such a thing. Everywhere you went it was there, someone had a TV on, or the radio. There was no getting away from it. After a while we couldn't handle it. We had to get out of the house, take our minds off of it. The whole thing made you think, it made you call people that you kept telling yourself you'd call but never did. It made you remember all the good things about people, and reminded you to cherish them. My mom and I hadn't been talking before that, but we talked that day. I was so scared, I was worried it was just the start of something bigger, since they had also hit the pentagon. I am glad that it nothing else has happended since that day.
I think that people shouldn't forget the people from the Pentagon, they need to be remembered also. A lot of these sites remember the WTC victims, which they should, but we also need to remember the Pentagon people and the people from that plane that crashed in the field. Nobody that was taken on September 11th should ever be forgotten.

I was actually in Class when the first plane hit. When class let out, I went to go pick up a package and then called my Mom to thank her for what she sent. When she answered, she asked if I was watching the news, and I said "no," not realizing what was going on. She told me to turn it on and filled me in on what happened. I watched the news, and tried to get in contact with friends so that they would know what was going on (not many college students I know watch the news in the mornings). I watched the people jumping out of the buildings; I watched the towers fall. I remember being so ANGRY and so sad--crying a lot over the next weeks. But as time passed, I was so proud of my country--how we rallied together; how we didn't let it beat us. God Bless the USA

I was a freshman in college. As I walked back to my dorm room from my 9:00 English class, I kept hearing snippets of conversation: "The Twin Towers fell…hijacked airplanes…hit the Pentagon…" Naively, I assumed that the conversation was centered around a debate or project in another class. Walking up the stairs to my room, I came across my roommate, who just said, "Oh my God, you haven't heard." (By this point, it was already 11:00 a.m., and I was "behind the times"). She switched on our television, and every station (we have over 100) was tuned in to coverage of the attacks. Our dorm room was in a central location, and within 15 minutes, we had over 30 people in our room, some whom we had never met, watching CNN intently. They kept showing the images of the planes crashing into the Towers, then the devastating collapse. The most horrifying image, however, was not of the buildings; it was watching the people of New York run for their lives as buildings crashed around them. People who had never met before that day held hands, held one another as those with family and friends in NYC tried to comprehend what had happened and broke down in tears with frustration that the phone lines were tied up (they stayed tied up for days). At 1:00, the Dean called a special Mass on campus- Catholics, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Muslims…it didn't seem to matter what religion anyone was. All that mattered was what had happened to our country only a few hours before. What was supposed to be an act of terrorism to tear this country apart ended up bringing people closer together than ever before. Many of us (myself included) lost family or friends on that day, but they will never be forgotten
