So, where was I on that horrible morning? Were else? School. I was in my video 1 class. It ran from 9-noon, and I got to the college at about 8:40, and was just thinking about what the Wizards' season would be like if Michael Jordan played for them, which is what he was supposed to announce in a press conference that day. Oh how I wish that happened.
Video Class started like every other class. I think that was only the second class, maybe third, so we hadn't really started anything yet. In fact, that day was the day we were to take the GL1's around campus and do an "in-camera edit". Which is just filming in order, so you don't have to edit later.
At about 9:30 or so, my teacher, Jose Tenorio, went to his office to get something for the class. I forget what tho. He was gone longer than we probably thought. and 9:45 or so he got back and said a plane crashed in to the World Trade Center. I instantly thought it was just a cesna or crop duster. Why would I think it was a commerical jumbojet?! So the class continued, he talked to us about how to operate the cameras without breaking them, lol. Hey, the GL1's cost 2300 dollars and the college bought 8 of them.
At about 10:20 we were getting ready to begin our in-camera edits and he went to his office again. When he got back, he said "the towers are gone". I was in total disbelief. Gone?! Those things are huge, weighing 100,000 tons each, at least. They're a marvel to human ingeniunity, like the Pyramids. Yes, I really think that. Did you know that they were designed to sway 3 feet back and forth in the wind?
This girl next to me was in tears. Her fiance was in one of the towers that day, but don't worry, he got out and he's A-Ok. People tried to comfort her tho and she was escused from the assignment, but she did it anyway.
I grabed the camera and started walking around campus, but as soon as I got outside the classroom, the TV's that are hanging from the ceiling every 20 feet or so, were all on CNN. They were showing replays of the planes hitting and smoke billowing from the towers. I wanted to scream, but I am to stoic in public. I wish I did scream, but I did the assignment, then went to the lobby and watched CNN a bit, then went back to the classroom to turn in the cameras and leave.
As I was walking to my car, I was growing increasingly angry. I saw a lady running franctically to her car, I hope she didn't lose someone dear to her. That made me more mad. I got home and my younger brother, who was being homeschooled at the time, had the TV on and said, "Have you heard?" I replied wth, "yes". As soon as I got in front of the TV I just started crying uncontrolably. I then started pacing up and down the house screaming obscenities. For example, "lets nuke the fucking bastards who did this!". No, I do not think that now, but I did then, and I am NOT ashamed. My brother's friends and our cousin came over a few minutes later, becaue our mom had picked them all up, because the schools closed early, and we are the closest to the school of all his friends houses.
I was glued to the tv for at least a week, I recall. What happened was terrible and horrible, but I am over it. You have to be, I think. I don't want to live my life by being angry or sad and depressed all the time. The only other times where I cried like I did that day, were the Oklahoma City bombing (I was 14) and the Columbine School shooting (I was 18)

I was at work listening to the radio when the programme was interupted with the news that a plane had hit the World Trade Centre....At the beginning it seemed like a tragic accident. It wasn't till I arrived home after work and saw the pictures, and learnt of the other planes that it hit me. This was pure evil,I sat there trying to take it all in, numb with disbelief...My heart and prayers go out to all the survivors of 9/11 and to all those who lost loved ones. I can't begin to imagine the pain and suffering of you all....

I was asleep at home in Louisiana when my phone rang at about 7:50 A.M. It was a good friend of mine to tell me he that a plane had hit the World Trade center. He said he thought it was a movie when he first turned on the T.V. As he said this I looked up, (I had left the T.V. on) and saw the horror that was taking place in New York. All I could think of was all those people, and the rescue workers that were trying to help them. We almost thought it was an accident till the second plane hit. I dropped the phone and screamed when I saw what had happened. My roommate came running, as I started to cry. I couldn't believe that this could actually be happening to our country. It seemed surreal. Then we heard about the Pentagon. I called my mother who lives in Connecticut to tell her I loved her, and make sure my dad wasn't in the city that day. Thank God he wasn't, but so many others were. A year later I still can't find the words to express how much pain I felt from watching people so heartless, try to destroy a country. Murder innocent people by the thousands. This year, on 9/11, I like many others said a prayer. That our country has been strong enough to raise up and surpass this unimaginable tragedy. That we are strong, and that we will survive.God, bless the USA, the people who lost their lives, thier families, the rescue workers, and all of us!

I WAS SITTING AT HOME WATCHING T.V. WHEN THE NEWS FLASHES STARTED, IT WAS HORRIFFIC. I FELT FOR ALL THE PEOPLE INVOLVED BUT ESPECIALLY FLIGHT CREW AND CABIN CREW AS I TOO WORK AS CABIN CREW. EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE TRAINED IN THE EVENT OF HIJAKINGS, THE THOUGHT OF THE POOR CREW ON THOSE 4 FLIGHTS THAT DAY UPSETS ME. THEY ARE ALSO THE HEROES OF 9/11. GOD BLESS THEM AND THIER FAMILLIES. XXX

I was 21 years old and a senior at James Madison University on 9/11/01. I woke up at 9 AM, like I did every Tuesday and Thursday morning since I didn't have class until 11 AM. I did the normal routine: shower, got dressed, etc. I had just finished breakfast and signed online when my friend Robert messaged me. "Someone attacked the World Trade Center" he typed. "What?" I typed back. "Turn on the news" he told me. I flipped on my TV and every station was showing the same scene: the collapse of the towers. My roommate Tonya walked in a couple minutes later and she watched with me until we left for class. The bus ride to campus was silent, I had never known JMU to be this quiet. Once we got to campus, a guy in our class stopped me and said class had been cancelled. Tonya and I walked around campus and then went to watch CNN at the theatre on campus. It was then I learned about the Pentagon. I couldn't comprehend what was going on, as I'm sure no one could at the time. I went to my other two classes, but not everyone showed up. I knew many were from Northern VA and were probably trying to get in contact with their families. I made my way home and called my mother because if I heard her voice then that meant everything was okay. She was shocked and saddened. Afterwards, I went to my night class but couldn't concentrate. I came home and tried to call home again but the phone lines were down. I remember feeling so alone that night but I knew the worst was over.
