At 9:00 I left my office in North Brunswick, NJ to drive to the main campus of Princeton House, the behavioral health division of the Medical Center at Princeton. I was supposed to attend a regular operations meeting and meet with my two immediate superiors. I arrived in Princeton at 9:30, having listened to the radio en route. The big screen tv in the main area of the facility was on showing both towers in flames. I went downstairs to my boss' office, he was trying to get to the CNN website but couldn't. We went back upstairs and stood with patients and staff watching the horror unfold on tv. When the first tower fell, I commented - somewaht casually - to no one in particular that I had a cousin who worked out of an engine company out of lower Manhatten and I wondered if he was on duty. Within a day or two I learned that Paul Beyer and three of his "brothers" from Engine Company 6 died in the collapse. He was just finishing a shift and was among the first to arrive at the scene. I went back to the outpatient site that I run and met with the staff and patients as a group then sent everyone home. We buried Paul in Staten Island..his home..on 5/31/02.

I was in front of the television, eating breakfast and preparing to leave for my first postgraduate course of the new semester. My thoughts just before the attack were on the upcoming class, and the fact that my beloved NY Giants had lost on Monday Night football the previous evening. I sat transfixed in front of the television the entire day, shaking my head side to side and wondering how many people I knew who were trapped in the towers. I later learned that I lost three friends that morning, and when I heard the news, the Giants loss and my college classes became very insignificant to me. They still are, today.

God Bless the victim's families, and our country as well.

I was on holiday with my husband in Rhodes at the time, we were staying in Lindos and had been to Rhodes town for the day.
As we walked past one of the bars we saw a crowd of people gathered around a TV screen and at first I thought it was a movie or something. It wasn't until my daughter text me a message on my mobile phone from the UK that we realised the horror of the events in New York. We went back down to the bar and everyone was sitting in stunned silence as the events unfolded before us on Sky News.
All of us sitting in that bar wept for all of the poor souls whose lives were snuffed out like candles by misguided fanatics. The sight of those people jumping from the towers will haunt me forever.
I send my heartfelt condolences to all the families who have suffered the loss of a loved one, and as the first anniversary approaches, we will remember the courage and bravery of all involved.
My prayers and love are with you all in this difficult time.

O 9-11-01 I was in the waiting room of a hospital waiting for word about my sons progress when I noticed the events of 9-11 unfolding before my eyes on the television screen. My wife and I were shocked when we saw the footage of the first plane striking the tower. When we saw the second one hit we knew it wasn't an accident. We were totally shocked to think that someone could do something like this. It was hard to pull away from the television to do anything because I just couldn't believe it was happening. My prayer then and now go out to all the families of the victims of 9-11. God Bless them all and God Bless american as we lead the fight against terrorism.
