Where I was on 9/11/02.
Most mornings, I start the day by listening to KRTS radio station while I work at my computer. I am computer programmer and I work at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. Normally KRTS does newscasts at regularly scheduled intervals. However there was a breaking news report that an airplane had struck one of the World Trade towers in New York City. A few minutes later I was in another part of the building, which had live CNN TV coverage of the evolving news events in New York. As I walked into the room I saw the second plane hit the South tower. I immediately new that this was NO accident. The images of the disaster unfolding reminded me of the Challenger Space Shuttle explosion that occurred in January 1986. I remembered the emotions that I felt after watching another National Landmark exploding on National TV. I still remember the images from 1986.
Throughout the past year I saw countless images of the airlines crashing into the World Trade Towers. I read thousands of words about the buildings and the thousands of people that built them and work in them. These activities gave me and a deep insight to the unique New York landmarks and the people that these landmarks were a part of their lives.
It is very difficult for the Human mind to comprehend the loss of 2,801 lives on 9/11.However these emotions of the loss of any human life are very powerful. One year later after attending a memorial service on 9/11/02 I still feel the emotions. It HURTS! It hurts very much. However my faith teaches us to celebrate life. I leave you with this thought.
The World will continue to celebrate life. This is what life is about…

I was at the Marion Co. Family Resourcn ek meeting in Fairmont, WV. All of a sudden folks started getting phone calls and did not return. Soon we found out how quickly life had changed.Started making phone calls to family my one brother was not on the plane that crashed in Pa. Our oldest son who generally flew into New York was in the air at the time of the horror. since then my thoughts and prayers have been with the families of the victims

My husband and I along with our daughter, were at a Funeral for a fine young man, who was killed in a freak Motorcycle accident, just days before. The unique thing about this Young man,Danny Stark was his name, is Danny was a very, PROUD MARINE....At his funeral, was a full HONOR GUARD. They were standing outside of the Funeral Home when the Commander got a phone call and he went to the van carrying the Honor Guard, they stood there listening to a radio and we heard what had happened at the WTC, word of what happened traveled fast through the funeral guests and EVERYONE was stunned, and shocked. We all listened to it on our radios and couldn't believe what we were hearing, alot of us were thinking, on this horrible day, we are here burying ONE OF AMERICA'S FINEST. As young as he was, he was a decorated Soldier, and he would have been there to Protect us in a Heart Beat.

I got a call from my wife at 10 am, because I work overnight, and she told me to turn the TV on. I watched in horror, I couldn't believe what was going on, since I work for the media, I had to go to work right away, they needed help.
I lost 4 friends that day. The media job hasn't been the same since either. I think we really need to make a reflection of this for our future, because, whether we know it or not, it's at stake. They woke up a sleeping giant, and not it's going to take a long time before we can all even drive into the city and not think about the horro, and disaster, and the loss of innocent life. Will we ever be the same? Who knows. One thing is for certain, as long as there are terrorists to be dealt with, the average American will be looking over his shoulder from now on.
