My husband and I, along with friends from Florida, were staying in a villa at Sun Lakes, Az. ( An "active adult community") We were spending several days there to see how we would like living in an active retirement community.
On the first morning, our friend George got up to make the coffee and turned on the radio. He heard what he thought was another "Orson Wells" type story. The news person said that the audience should turn on the tv sets if they did not believe what she was reporting.
I got up as George was turning on the tv; just in time to see the second plane go into the second tower. I saw it but I could not believe it! We got our spouses up and spent the rest of the day in disbelief in front of the TV.
My husband and I had lived for eleven (11) years in southeast Asia and six (6) of those in a Muslim country. I would not doubt for a minute that these people are not capable of doing such as this; but for them to do it in America is something I would not have expected in a million years.
My prayers go out to all the victims, rescue workers and anyone involved. Especially to our President and our country's advisory personnel. They are doing a great job.

While I was driving to work at 7:15 in the morning I glanced up at the sky as I always do when I am driving in the morning, and I thought to myself, "What a beautiful day. It's almost too beautiful to be true."
And the sky was so blue. I thought to myself, "It's great just to be alive."
I still can't believe that that was my thought.

I was at work when I found out what happened. I called my wife who stayed at home sick to turn a news. A while later our boss called a department meeting and stated that our plant suspends all operations effective immediately untill next day, September 12 with possible make up at Saturday, September 15th. Since I didn't know what can I do to help, I decided to go to the nearest Red Cross blood draw station to donate blood. So we did.

I live 2.4 miles north, on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Twelfth Street, and I have a clear view of the twin towers. That day I walked out the front door of my apartment building, there was a crowd and barricades at Saint Vincent's Hospital. I asked a police officer what was happening. He pointed south. One tower was smoking. Then the other tower exploded. Stunned, I wheeled about and quickly returned to my apartment. I sat quietly for three and a half hours. I thought: it has come home; it has come home.
