September 11th was the first day of classes last fall at my boarding school in California. As I sat in the dining hall eating breakfast sometime around 7:30 AM, a girl in my class came up to the table I was sitting at and said, "You guys, the Pentagon has been bombed!" I said, "You're kidding!" It just seemed like it must have been a movie. We aren't normally allowed to watch TV at school, but they set up a TV in the auditorium for people to watch the news whenever they had some free time. That was also the only day the boom box in the bathroom has ever been set to a news station while people were showering after sports. It was pretty surreal.

I can not remember what I did last week, but I will always remember what I was doing when I heard the news. I am on the girls golf team in my little town of Piper, KS and we were playing in a tournament. I was on the 2nd whole when someone said planes had crashed into the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon. At the time I had no idea what kind of situation we were in or the impact it would cause on our country. It was not until I returned to the clubhouse and saw the news that I realized what was actually going on. September 11, 2001 is a day that I will remember forever and someday will tell my children about.

I was sitting in my psychology class when the principal came over the P.A. system telling us not to panic but yet that there had been a plane that had crashed into the World Trade Center. And ofcourse, we turned on the T.V. in the room and I actually saw the 2nd plane crash into the building. This is something that I will never forget the rest of my life. I respect the firefighters of New York and all the policemen to. Me being a Christian thought this had it's good points too. This made everyone reflect on God. And how He's ALWAYS there through good and bad. And this was definanity a bad and he was there belive it or not. I ran up to my family, church friends and e-mailed the long distance one's and told each and everyone of them how much I loved them. Your never guarenteed a tomorrow and this tragic event made me relized this even more. God Bless you all and God Bless America. pray for our soldiers. I love you all.

I was in my first class of the morning, sleeping quietly at my desk in the back of my classroom. When the principal announced what had happened over the intercom, promising more details later, I knew that I would always remember where I was at that moment.
