The day my world changed I was at work on the 41st floor on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. Our office had a clear, unobstructed view of the WTC. When the first plane hit, everyone thought it was a freak accident but then when the second plane hit, we realized the truth - that we were under attack. The only thing entering our minds were how many people were either killed or hurt for no reason and if we would make it home OK. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and survivors. Thankfully, no one in my office knew anyone directly affected but something in all of us died that day. I have tried to come to terms with what happened and hold onto the fact that people from all walks of life, religions and creed have come together in love, not hate. I pray that there is a time that we all can just live in love, peace and harmony and be able to believe with impunity what we want. I do believe that G-d is manifested in every one of us no matter what race, religion or creed we are and that a person who truly acts in G-d's name would only show love and tolerance for all. G-d in any religion is a G-d of love, not hate.

I was in my first block of classes in Culinary school. My best friend and I had run to the bathroom before starting to cut required veggies. Upon our return, our classmates told us that two planes had ran into the World Trade Center. I felt sick because I had been to the center two weeks prior to that date. While I was there, my mother and I commented on how horrible it must have been in 1993 when it was bombed. It was mind blowing to me that we had questioned that and now this was happening. My classmates and I couldn't concentrate on our work as a student ran in to tell us of the pentagon being hit. Soon after, another student ran in to tell us that the first tower fell. I remember all of us putting our knives down at that point and running to the closest tv. We watched in horror as the second tower fell and the pentagon was surrrounded by a thick black cloud that not only lingered over DC and NYC, but over our whole country. I will never forget that day, as much as I may try or want to.

I had a vacation day from work. I was in the shower at home. I heard the phone ring once, then twice, then again. I was wondering who would be bothering me already this morning. I got out of the shower to find messages from my mother and my fiancee. I turned on the television immediately. Then I called the school where my step children go to see if I should pick them up. I had so many things I was going to do that morning, but all I could do was sit and watch the television, dumbfounded. It was horrible. I called my job to see if any of our Technicians were away in New York. Thankfully, they were all home. I was horrified. I will never forget that aweful day.

I will never, ever forget 9/11. I was sitting at my desk in work and waiting for my husbands usual morning call about 9:05 telling me he was in work. My husband works 6 blocks from the WTC and used to take the PATH train through tower one. My phone rang about 8:50 and he was screaming on his cell phone telling me a "bomb" just went off on the top of one of the towers and debris was falling everywhere. He was out the tower only about 5 after the first plane hit. He was across the street in the front of some store and he didn't know what happened, only heard the explosion and saw things falling around him so he just ran without looking back and made it to his job safely THANK GOD and after hours of him trying to get out of the city, he made it home to me safely. That was one of the worst phone calls I have ever received. I will never forget the way I felt that day and the way I still continue to feel even 6 months later. God Bless America & all it's people!

i was at work at scerbo buick in boonton nj when a another worker told me that tower one had been hit by an airplane at first i thought it was a small airplane with mechaical trouble latter he told me a second plane had hit tower two i knew than that this was no accident i went too the tv in the waiting room there was a crowd of emloyees and customers watching the horror of what was happening the real shock came whan the towers collapsed right on tv it's aday i will never forget
