I am a nurse at a hospital in Tennessee. I was working that day when one of the nurses came into the area I was sharing with another nurse and told us that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. I asked the nurse, "Is this a joke?"
She said,"No, see for yourself." As we turned on the television we saw the fire and smoke coming from the first tower that was hit and heard the reporters commentating on what might have happened to the plane to cause the crash. At that instant we watched as the second plane slammed into the second tower. There was a collective gasp from the employees of the hospital who stopped to see what was happening.
I remember saying,"Was that what I think it was?" The nurse beside me looked at me as if she were in shock and replied,"I think so." We both knew that this was no accident.
As the T.V. kept reporting, we continued to work. There was a pall over the people in the area where I worked, a silent understanding that, after today, our lives would never be the same...

I remember the Sept. 11, 2001 as if it happened today. My mom had gone to see my sister in St.Louis, Missouri and the day before they had a very bad vehicle accident. My son and I had gone up there. Upon waking the morning of the 11th, my son Chase yelled at my mother and I to come see the TV. As I watched in horror, the second plane hit. I will never forget the site of the twin towers, people jumping out of the building and everyone held in total shock. We later went to the hospital and my sister was also watching the news. I guess their accident was not nearly as bad after watching the terror that hit New York. It will be a day eveyone will always remember. Joyce Lawrence

I was In school on the morning of September 11, 2001. I was sitting in the library, looking up info for a report and just happened to get up and go look at the TV, for no particular reason. When I got a good look at the television, what I saw shook me. I saw flames and smoke billowing out of the first WTC tower. I ran out into the main library section and told everyone what had happened. Apparently I was one of the very first in our school to see what happened. When I said that, everyone gathered around the television to watch what would prove to be one of the most important events in our country's history unfold before our eyes. Afterwards, when we were sitting in our next class, all the teachers had turned the classroom television sets on. Class wasn't being taught, and we were all just staring at the TV, not beleiving what we were seeing. Then the second plane crashed. We all watched in helpless horror as the second jet streaked across the sky towards its defenseless target. We just stared as it came crashing into the second building. When the buildings came down, we all realized that what we had just seen had really happened and that our lives would never be the same.

In Memory of what we had, who and what we lost, and hope for tomorrow----------

Wounds and Scars------

A wound represents the present, a scar is a memorial of the past--a historical
landmark......

Wounds were inflicted September 11, 2001--another day that will live in infamy--driven by mutual misunderstanding, miscommunication and unfathomable hatred. But
wounds are temporary--causing either death or scar........

Scars--reminders of events in which something new is learned. Some think scars represent pain, an accurate but very narrow perspective. Scars tell a story, explain the past and provide new insight for a healthier and brighter future. Scars are a necessity to build character and serve as evidence that healing is possible, that life still goes on--but never the same as before--a visible flaw remains as a reminder........

When I think of wounds and scars I remember Jesus' hands---The pain He endured, the immortal wounds, and the scars that convey an undescribable love. If He had remained dead the holes would be fatal wounds--but He lives--the scars proved His resurrection to doubting minds........

The wounds of September 11th will heal--however, the physical and emotional scars will forever remain as living memorials representing and reminding us of the devastation of hate and the healing power of faith, hope and love--"and the greatest of these is
love" (I Corinthians 13:13).......

Healing is in process--removal of rubble and debris from buiiding sites, planes, and foremost, hearts. Only ruins remain.......

Healing requires a deep cleansing--God, Hear Our Prayer--renew our hearts--
destroy our selfish pride, help us all to be still, to listen and learn, and to love. Guide us to true peace and freedom for all.

I have insomnia because my mother died just four months ago. So I was awake watching Fox and Friends on Fox News network. They had just went to commercial from interviewing Rob Thomas' wife. They came back and they were like a plane hit the trade tower. At that time they were like a pilot probably fell asleep because its too pretty for him to not see them. Then this woman called in and she was tellin what she saw from her building.I was like whats that, and then the second plane hit.It happened so fast I had no idea that was a plane. My story isn't to interesting, but I was wide awake watching it all happen live via television.
