I had just started my BTEC course in Media studies and the class were allowed to leave early, I went home, got some lunch, and as I always do I watch "Neigbours" on TV. That finished just after 2pm, just after the first plane crashed. I then turned the channel over to Sky Sports News, and flicked the channels and got to Sky News, where just as I got to the channel, I saw a plane fly live stright into the WTC, following that I was in shock, it was an amazing, and surreal afternoon. I do not agree with the views of Bush or Blair, but the main thing for this site is to make sure the events of 11.9 are never forgotten. God Bless the Victims.

Well, first of all I would like to point out that I am not American by birth, but since serving with you guys in the Persian Gulf, I am American at heart.
September 11th 2001, I was returning from Ireland by ship back to scotland when the tragedy struck. I got a phone call from my brother in Amsterdam, to tell me of the news.
I spent the next few weeks glued to the tv and radio. Couldn't beleive what had happened. Even now the size and gravity of what took place still does not sink in.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as the 1st anniversary approaches. We will think of you all during this difficult time
Both my wife and I would like to congratulate the United States of America in the way they have dealt with this tragedy. Since 1990 and learning more about your way of life, I have tried to be more like you guys. If the uk could follow in your example I am sure we would be a far, far better place for it!

I was in my front room, chatting on AIM to a friend who lives in LA (I am from England), my breathe was taken away when he said turn to a news channel and I did, he, understandably, signed off abruptly.
I will never forget the horror I felt and I hope I never do because as long as we remember how that felt, we certainly shall never allow such evil to happen again.
God bless us all and God bless those now with the Lord.

I was decorating my mothers bedroom when I herd on the radio that a plane had hit one of the twin towers. I then watched the second hit on CNN. I hope all Americans understand that your UK brothers will not forget one of your nations worst hours. God bless all.

hi my name is luke im 14 years old and live in mansfield, england, europe. i remember that on 11th september 2001 i got home from school (and no-one was in at this point) turned the television on as normal and the news was on every single channel! there was reports coming through that a plane had crashed into the wtc. there was another plane heading towards washington dc and another towards camp david and another to pensylvania. i was tottaly and utterly gobsmacked flabergasted words just cant describe it i felt sick inside and so sadend by the tragic events and i just wanted to help but i couldnt. just one question on this touching subject WHY?
