On September 11th I was on holiday in Mijas, Spain. After spending a very enjoyable late morning and early afternoon by the pool I will never forget the images that I saw when I returned to my room and switched on the television. My partner and I were totally transfixed for over 3 hours by the events that were unfolding. The first tower had been hit and I saw live the second plane fly into the second tower. Those images will stay with me until my dying day. I will also always remember the american tourists staying at the hotel and thier tears as they telephoned home visibly shaken by the attacks on thier homeland. What took place on that day should never be forgotton. I hope the U.K and all the other democratic countries throughout the world continue to support 100% the U.S and the war against terrorism. Bin laden and his terrorist network must be defeated by whatever means necessary as must all other terrorist groups who threaten freedom and democracy.

On September 11th i was sent home early after finishing my college induction getting home around 11:45 and after eating began to flick through the channels until i hit on CNN covering what seemed to be a fire in the WTC and as the reporters began to say what had happened the second plane hit over the next few hours horror struck as we saw the live footage of people falling to there death and others running from the avalanche of ash. I was due in London September 12th but after a call from a realitive there who said that there were convoys of army going in one way and people leaving the other way i visited London on the friday after the attacks and was amassed at the amount of troops everywere and the silence that seemed to deafen the under city

I was at school in a room on my own with another teacher. We were doing some work together when we heard a rumour about the tragedy. We immediately went onto the net to find out more about the horrific events. It was terible. For for the first time ever I had nothing to say and my teacher was just overcome. Only 2months before had our school from england been on a trip right to the top of the world trade center. The reality of it dint really set in until i got home when it was all over the telly. Nothing else was really shown for a long time which i think was brilliant.Tribute shows were made and shown all over the united kingdom and memorial services and silences were held all over the country. The flag flew at half mast at school on the 11th and for a good few days after.I didnt lose anyone in the tragedy but no what it is like to lose a close loved one. We will neverforget-rest in peace gods angels IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ON SEPTEMBER THE 11th 2001. THEY DIDN'T GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT. THERE FAMILIES SHOULD BE SO PROUD because the whole world is. ENGLAND is with you AMERICA.Together we can make it.

I was at work when we heard the news. Somebody sent a text message to a friend’s mobile phone we couldn’t believe the message. We realised how serious the situation is when we saw what’s happening on the BBC’s website.
It’s very ironic because earlier that day we were talking about MiddleEast and how unfairly the Palestinians treated by Israelis, etc. Somebody was saying “Israel couldn’t behave such a bullying way if America didn’t support them”, and carried saying “… only if America could see how does it feel to be terrorised in your own home”.
Well, all I can say it is sad; sad for Americans, sad for Palestinians, and if we start building the bridges, it will be sad for the world.

“Peace at home, peace in the world” –Ataturk.
