Though i had no loved ones or any link to the victims of the September 11th attacks, like many other people i washed the tragedy unfold live on TV. Shock, disbelief, anger, and that of sadness ran through my mind, i could not begin to imagine the terror of those who were passenegers on the hijacked aeroplanes, or those innocent workers trapped in the rubble of the world trade centre, or though relatives who waited with hope that there loved ones were unharned and safe. Though we are now 3 months on not a day goes by where i do not think about what happened on this tragic day, i wonder why? but then see the togehterness of the world and the love we now all have for each other, but then i still think did it have to come to this? my heart goes out to all victims of this terrible day and also the whole of NEW YORK CITY, such a beautiful place cannot be harmed by such cowardly people it can only bring us closer. Closer in our thoughts and love for each other, we cannot give in we can only become stonger. Such a strong and beatiful country, such strong and beautiful people, my heart goes out to you, my thoughts are with you.xx

On September 11th 2001 I was at school, I go to the Ballymena Academy in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. The first I heard of the attacks was on my bus home, at about 3:55 when a friend of mine said that The Pentagon had been bombed by terrorists, he knew this because out school librarian had seen it on the internet.
It wasn't until I got home that I realised the scale of the attacks. As I stepped into the house my granda said to my sister and I to turn on the television because "half of America has been blown up" as he put it. We turned on the T.V to see on nearly every channel these images of planes flying into the Twin Towers. Below there was a box saying 'Latest News - Terrorist Attacks On America'. It was very shocking, the sight on these massive buildings coming down, it is terrible to think how many people were inside them.
I then went to my nana and grandas house, just up the road form mine. I then watched in horror for the rest of the day and for the following days. It was terrbile.

I was on holiday in LA at the time, been to New York on Sept 11th for the previous 2 years so I decided to go to LA this time instead. I woke on the morning, turned on the news and just couldn't believe it. Spose I still can't really until I visit New York again as see what it looks like without the twin towers.

When I heard about the first attack (about 2pm GMT) I was sitting in the Sixth Form common room at my school. Everyone was reading, or doing some work, or talking etc, when my friend Charlotte (who had her Walkman on) said "A plane's been flown into the World Trade Centre". Everyone just laughed at her, and told her to get real, it wasn't April Fools. No one was able to realise that it was true, because it seems so absurd.
I only realised it was real, when my parents phoned me to ask me to e-mail my aunt in NH to ask if she and her friends were all OK.
The next day was my 18th birthday, but I will probably remember where I was at 2pm on the 11th instead of what I did on the 12th.

It was 2pm, I was upstairs reading, for some reason I never had my TV on that day. My mother called me urgently, I ran downstairs wondering what was wrong with her. As I walked into the room and saw the images before my eyes, I couldn't believe it. My Mum just said with tears in her eyes, terrorists are attacking America. I remember saying over and over "Oh my God" "Oh my God". My fiance is American and I was so worried. I tried calling him, on the 12th attempt I got through. We told each other how much we love one another. We watched the WTC towers collapse, it all seemed so unreal. I could hear the hurt and disbelief in his voice. I so much wanted to be with him to hold him, but I couldn't.

This touched the lives of people throughout the world. These events were real and will never be forgotten. Love each other more each day.

My love, prayers and thoughts go out to all the people who have lost loved ones, and to a Nation United. God Bless America. XXX
