Sept 11th – Words are so inadequate to describe the feelings as the events unfolded on that terrible day I was at work in Stockport, England. The company I work for and the street I live in is directly under the flight path into Manchester Airport – every time a plane went over my heart was in my mouth, I have no idea of the scale of fear everybody in America must have felt on 09/11. You are all so brave & hopefully the 1 good thing that may come out of this tragedy is that we can rid the world of these fanatical terrorists who murder in the name of God. My heartfelt sorrow to all those who were affected by this tragedy my thoughts are always with you. Love & peace always Nicola Mullin & family xxxx

I was sitting at my desk at work, having lunch & reading a book. A colleague came in & said that one of the towers had been hit by accident.
I went on the net & read about it & as i was reading the other tower was hit. It was then broadcast by our receptionist what had actually happened & that live coverage was being shown in our conference room. All work stopped. We were watching the unbelievable, the impossible, the unforgivable. The roads outside were sudenly empty & the phone did not ring at all for the rest of the day.
I & my colleagues wish all the families who have suffered loss our deepest condolences.
To all the hero's, you should be proud to be American.
Even in the deepest darkness, a single candle can always lead you back to the light.

My name is Rachelle Wilkins, I was a delegate at the T.U.C Conference in Brighton, I will never forget the disbelieve on hearing the terrible news, or the fear when Tony Blair addressed the nation from the Conference.Everything seemed unreal it was as if I was in a Twighlight world.
I will always remember this day for the rest of my life.

I am British and I live in York at the time i was sitting in my living room and had just finished watching neighbours and a news flash appeared on the screen and said that they were getting reports that a plane had crashed in to the WTC it was amazing to see, my friend came over and we were just glued to the TV for hours unable to comprehend what we were seeing second tower , pentagon , and Pensylvania it just got worse and worse as the afternoon went on, it started at 2.10 pm here.In the end I had to turn the TV off as it was just too much I was also very worried about the out come as my husband is in the Army and I thought there is bound to be some sort of millitary backlash.I cant belive its been 1 year already its my birhtday on sept 10 and every year I will be thanking god im alive and my family is all safe and well.The thing that upsets me the most is when you hear the messages from people in the towers on on the planes left on answering machines its just heart breaking.There is no doubt the world has changed forever a feeling violation and disgust for the people who did this, and it has certanly made me think twice about bringing children in to this sad sad world.

I was travelling back from lunch in Edenbridge, Kent, England listening to the Simon Mayo show on Radio 5. He was describing the scene and stating that it was not yet clear what had happened, then the other plane hit the second tower and I, along with everyone else, probably realised that this was an organised attack.
My abiding memory will be trying to log onto various internet pages and finding many of them locked up, knowing that the whole world was watching the news and looking at the images of the planes crashing into the towers. Once on the web pages, the image that will stay with me forever is that of the people jumping to their deaths.
My thoughts and the thoughts of many others I know are with all the survivors of 9/11 and the families of those innocent people who lost their lives unneccessarily whilst just doing their jobs.
The site should be now made into a garden of rememberance with a memorial with all the names of the dead.
