It was my freshman year of college at the University of Redlands in Redlands, CA. My parents had just drove home that previous Friday and I had just known my roommate less than 4 days. The morning of September 11, 2001 I had a 9:30 AM class and had planned to sleep until 8:30 AM. Suddenly somebody pounded on my door and warned us that we were at war.
Turning on the television we learned that we were not in fact at war. Watching that snowy TV for hours broke my heart. I had spent 3 months in the east coast the summer before and love the WTC towers.
Suddenly the news announcer gave names of places that were on alert. Los Alamos, NM was only 20 min away from my home and I was terrified knowing that the entire nation was unsafe.
Later the airplanes were detoured from LAX to Ontario,CA airport. Ontario was 20 min away from me and I had never felt so scared in my life. I could not even imagine what the people in New York felt.

It was my very first day in my new house, the house I still live in now. I was on campus, in the library. Dozens of computers were on, linked up to all kinds of information networks, but no one seemed to realise what was happening. it was only when I arrived home and my housemate - who I had met only the day before - gently took my hand and sat me down, that I realised something terrible had happened.
I will never forget this day. I can only pray that those for whom the memories are too vivid and horrible to bear, the years will be kind and soften the pain.

i hadn't even heard of the world trade center until september 11 2001. i was in algebra class and heard my teachers talking in a worried voice in the hallway. my teacher came in with a really distressed face and i whispered to my best friend, "something is very wrong." i looked outside to see if there might be some weather alert, but all i saw was a beautiful blue sky and a bright shining sun. we turned on the tv in our classroom to see the two buildings on fire. we were listening to a lady reaccount the past events in the last few momments when she started screaming, "Oh my Gosh OH MY GOSH! its coming down." the camera dropped and it was enveloped in a cloud of gray dust. you could hear people screaming everywhere. you could tell whoever was holding the camera was running for their life. we all thought the world was coming to an end. to top things off that afternoon there was a sonic boom, but before the news station told us that it was a sonic boom we that that the Wright-Patt Air Force Base was being bombed. it was really to F-16's breaking the sound barrier while escorting Air Force 1. The images i saw and the thought of all those people who lost their lives while be permanatly ingraved in my mind forever.

I remember that there was chaos all around and that was how i woke up on september 11 2001 only to find that the world and the country will never be same again!there is no words to describe how i felt at seeing the images broadcast on the T.V.I felt absolutely helpless and really wanted to reach out to all the people who lost their dear ones and above all it seemed so gruesome and so stupefyingly horrible that some people would go to any extremes simply to invoke(what the beleve is)the order of god!even as the second plane hit the second tower i was crying and the atmosphere was simply unforgettable. The pictures of all the people falling out of the two giants will be etched in my memory forever.I couldnt still believe my eyes and i was inwarsly hoping that this was also some gimmic like the one they did in the 1930's based on the alien attack or something...... but if only wishes come true! Now a year has passed and the memories still haunt me and i hope and sincerely do hope that this does not happen in the future or ever. There is no greater pain than loosing ur loved ones. And I also salute the courage displyed by the passengers of the 4th plane that crashed and a greater danger was averted. What is happenning to the world? Is this such a bad world that we cant live in harmony?Or do those people think that by killing some others they can really impose their point of view?well whatever happens this must not repeat for the good of the mankind. And we must also show that one individual cannot determine the way we live.We cannot put an end to terrorisn as long as there is man and as long as there is freedom of speech and thought BUT WE CAN FIND EFFECTIVE MEANS TO CURB IT.

I was attending College at USM. Just startng into the school season. I was doing laundry I forgot my detergent so I went back to my dorm room to get it. While I was up there my mom left a message on the answering machine. She was crying and saying turn on the T.V. something terrible has happened to America. So, I turned it on. As soon as the picture came up I saw the second plane crash into the building. I didn't know what to think. I thought maybe it was an accident, maybe it was a dream then I cried and just couldn't believe what was happening.
