I was at home feeling sick when I decide to check my e-mail. I log on and there's this huge thing about how the towers have crashed down into the streets of nyc. I couldn't believe it. At first I thought some hackers logged into my isp and hacked the server. so then I go to the tv, turn on the news- sure enough this wasn't a joke. this was real. then the phone rings. my brother says he's coming over with my nephew. they show up and we drink coffee and sit in front of the tv mesmerized as my six year old nephew plays as if nothing has changed. It was a crazy feeling. Just thinking how much I love new york city, I couldn't believe this was happening right in the heart of the city. One of my favorite movies Arthur with Dudley Moore, and i just kept hearing that song play in my head.
If you get lost between the moon and new york city.... I know it's crazy ..but it's true.. if you get lost between the moon and new york city .. the best that you can do is fall in love.
We are stronger now and we will never forget.

ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 I WAS WORKING AS A RECEPTIONIST IN LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY AT AN ENGINEERING FIRM.
I REMEMBER GETTING AN E-MAIL SAYING SOMEONE HAD JUST FLOWN A PLANE INTO THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS SOME DRUNK PILOT OR SOME STUPID PERSON FLYING THE PLANE, WHEN THEN THE NEWS CAME THAT THE PENTAGON WAS HIT TOO. AFTER I HEARD THAT I KNEW IT WAS A TERROIST ATTACK. EVERYONE IN OUR BUILDING RUSHED DOWNSTAIRS TO WATCH THE TELEVISION.
ALL DAY PEOPLE WERE DOWNSTAIRS WATCHING THE TELEVISION. I LEFT WORK EARLY AND IT SEEMED AS IF THE WORLD HAD GONE MAD. PEOPLE WERE LINING UP TO FILL UP THEIR CAR TANKS WITH FUEL. THE RADIO AND NEWS WERE GOING CRAZY TALKING ABOUT IT ALL. I NOTICED PEOPLE PUTTING UP AMERICAN FLAGS OUTSIDE OF THEIR HOMES ON THE DRIVE HOME.
IT WAS A CRAZY, UNTHINKABLE DAY. NOW I LIVE IN SEATTLE AND TODAY ON THE YEAR ANNIVERSARY WE ARE HAVING A MOMENT OF SILENCE AT 2 PM IN OUR TOWN TO REMEMBER THE VICTIMS.

I was at work in Moorestown, NJ (Burlington County) when my boss comes in and tells me that he heard on the radio, a plane hit the WTC. Me and my co-worker just turned and looked at each other in disbelief. At the time, we thought it was just a small single engine plane crashed into it. So i hurried up to turn the radio to 1060am (news talk) and all 3 of us must have turned white when heard that it was a Boeing 767. Almost 2 minutes later was when the 2nd aircraft slammed into the building. It was just an eerie feeling, because there were no TV's in the facility and the internet was at a complete halt. We had IDSL connectivity but it was as slow as modem connection, then we couldn't get anything at all. So I felt like i was trapped. No TV or internet for info, just waiting to hear it on the radio. Bye the 930-1000am we actually had access to a TV and saw the actual damage to the buildings. When i saw the first building fall, i was so sick, i decided that i didn't want to watch it anymore. But of course something drew me to it and i had to stay a watch for a little while longer. I had to go to PA for an appointment but all the Bridges were shut from New Jersey to PA. The rest of the day i was depressed and angered. I kept thinking to myself "What the hell happened? Was this for real??"
I would like to extend my prayers to heroes(all rescue workers), victims and those who were left behind, GOD BLESS YOU ALL...

i remember thinking in my head, i don't want to leave and go back to work. vacation was so nice. i hadn't seen my grandparents and californian family members in a really long time. ugh.. my sister has a flight @ 7am PST and we need to get up and drive her to LAX.
then my aunt calls...
turn on the tv! turn on the tv!
and one event after another happened. the airlines were grounded and i faced the reality that i didn't know when i would be able to come home and see my parents or my siblings.

I had just dropped my Jeep off for servicing when someone came into the garage annoucing a plane had struck one of the towers. Assuming it was a small plane we all headed into the office to take a look. After about 30 seconds of watching the news we saw the second plane hit live. Instantly everyone's jaws dropped and we all said in a soft low voice "terrorists".
The day only got worse from that point on but I will never forget the horror in watching the second plane hit that morning. My parents have always remembered where they were and what they were doing when they learned about the assassination of JFK Jr. and now as history moves forward I can feel their pain.
God Bless America!!! My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost a loved one on this tragic day.
