I remember that morning I had to work at the college I attend (Durham College, in Oshawa, Ontario). I arrived just before 9am as I started at 9, and commenced my duties at the computer help desk. It was probably around 9:15 that I heard from one of the co-workers of the attacks on the WTC, and then a few minutes later she said that the second building was struck. At first, I thought she was kidding, and I wanted to ask her again, what really happened. I only thought this as it didn't seem real for something of this magnitude to happen. However, it was unfortunately true, and when I tried to visit any news sites, they were all down due to the amount of traffic on the net from others searching about the same thing. I had class at 10, and a bit later in the day I was informed by others that both of the buildings collapsed.

When the attack first happened, I was getting ready for school. I don’t listen to the radio in the morning so I had no clue as to what everyone on the bus was talking about. I really didn’t have a clue until lunchtime, when my friend, Stephanie, asked my other friend, Gail if she wanted to watch the news in Mrs. Usher’s room. It was then that I found out that the Twin Towers were hit by planes and had come down.
I sat in Usher’s classroom for the whole lunch hour, and for once during lunch, my mind wasn’t on food. Everyone in the classroom watched the planes go into the Towers over and over again. Once in a while, I would steal glances at Usher. She looked like she was going to cry. When the bell did ring for period 7, nothing seemed real anymore. It was like a dream. During period 7, Alan and them didn’t do anything stupid, and Mr. Miller left us alone.
When period 8 came, I was in Usher’s classroom. And we were watching at the news. It was then that I found out that one of her friends worked on the second top floor of one of the twin towers. By the time, the bell rang, she looked like she was going to cry.
The attacks made me realize how important our friends were. Even though I live in Canada, and attacks like these are very unlikely, it still makes you thankful for what you have.

I had no clue as to what was going on until my hubby came home from school and turned the TV on to show me. I could not believe my eyes!!! My emotions were running wild!!! I had that day off and was planning on spending it with my daughter. But, after i had seen the news, to me, nothing else mattered except that i was glued to the TV for the rest of the day and well into the late evening. I was very agitated and wasn't myself I guess from worrying of "what's next??". I really hate thinking of that!! I am not one who believes in "WARS"; never have and nver will!! I pray God looks over his people and ends all the misery and devastation of the world. But that's just wishful thinking and I know it. In my mind, things are probably just going to get worse and I'm afraid there is nothing that we can do to stop it from happening. My heart goes out to everyone that was involved with losing a loved one; loved ones. Stay strong and know they are in a better place now where there is peace and love. God Bless U ALL!!

On September 11/2001 I was taken nack by all the horriable acts of haterd. I was in school at the time and thought nothing of the incident but a little sorry for the victims. When I got home later that evening I realised how big the attacks were! They took my breath away each time the planes hit and I was terriablely angry at the people who were a part of this horrablie act!

I am disabled and house/bed bound for the most part, so I got a computer in April/01 to help with my isolation and joined some communities online and made friends from all over the world, but mostly in the United States. Since buying the computer I very rarely watched any TV. I just get up, get my decaf and go to my computer and log in to my Quit Smoking Support Group to see if any one is in need of help.
I had gotten my coffee and was walking past the TV to my computer, it was around 9:00 am, I got 2 steps past the TV and a voice in my head said "TURN THE TV ON", it was loud and very present, so I surprisingly back stepped and turned it on, to a world of terror, happening before my eyes, my mouth dropped, it was a while before tears came, I was in shock. At first I recall thinking this must be a movie, it must be, it's too horrible not to be. Until the second plane came in. I stayed transfixed to the screen until about 11am, then logged on and started a Prayer Thread for all Americans hurt or killed in this atrocity at my Quit Smoking Support Group, which is made up of mostly Americans. Several online communities I belong to lost members at the WTC and I cry now as I write this, recalling that awful day and the days after. God Bless all who where touched that day by such evil actions, those who lost loved ones, and especially the children. Those that were lost are in a better place than this, in Gods loving arms.
