I was working third shift at an
electronics manufacturer. After
work I went to a 401K meeting,
went home and went to sleep.
I didn't find out about anything
until about 3pm, when my Mom
came home from work. She told
me about it and showed me the
afternoon newspaper. The
picture and headline were very
scary and hard to believe. Then
I turned on the TV, and watched
for hours. It was unreal. My prayers
go out to the families of the victims.

It was my junior year of high school and I was in my 2nd period English Class and the whole school was interrupted with our principal on the intercom and he announced that both the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were attacked

I was in my first class of the day, Study hall. The day started out slow. I was doing my homework, and all of a sudden the principal and vice principal, walked in and said," Can I have everyone's attention?...... the World Trade Center in New York has just been hit by a plane." It hit everyone like a ton of bricks. All day long, every teacher was watching it on their tv's. They even set one up for us in the commons for lunch time. It was a sad day, people were crying everywhere, and all of the teachers were moping around all day long. It was sad. It was hard to believe that something so far away could affect us in Wisconsin.

On September 11 I was sitting in history class with all of the students eyes glued to the televsion. I was watching the tv for 50 mins. threw out the whole day all we heard was anouncments from the princple on what we were to do. the whole day went down in history. To me this day was a major tragdy to this country, wether it is to any other country or not it dosnt matter becuase it does to the US. All threw out the year in the morning before school starts we get to stand and salute our flag and country. From Sept 11, 01 till now i have never thought that this countrey could come alive we have gathered all together friends or not friends. The whole US has become the most loved place to be in the world and i am damn prode of it. I know for a fact that this country will never forget what happend to us on Sept 11 2001. Now at every event Football Basebal concerts anything all the people sitting there at the games chant U.S.A that is all this country does now it just amazes me on how well these people have come to love our country. God bless America

I was 21 and a senior in college a year ago. I was in my apartment the morning of Sept. 11th, 2001 getting ready for class. My roomate was doing the same. We both had music playing & no televisions on. Then, at about 8:50 central time, our phone rang. A few mintues later my roomate yelled to me to turn on my TV- her mom was calling saying that our country was under attack. I turned my TV on & just stared in horror at what I was seeing. It didn't even register what was happening, it was like a dream. My roomate came into my room & we both looked at eachother then stared at the TV again.
I grabbed my phone & tried to call my parents, but the phones were dead. There was a dial tone, but the call wouldn't go through, it was very creepy. I knew it was probably because so many people were calling everywhere to their loved ones at that point. Finally I got through, and while I was talking to my dad, the 1st tower collapsed. I said to my roomate "What do we do, do we go to class?". We decided to walk to our class. I still remember walking past the ROTC building and seeing the American flag at half staff. Seeing that flag at half staff had a whole new meaning to me...I will never forget that image.
